shalbourne soaring-flying report 16th.jan 2016

Finally a day arrived when we could get the toys out and get airborne. With a north westerly wind blowing it meant that the winch could be sited at the top end of the field and along with the overnight frost towing out and retrieving cables was not a problem.

Jim c was d.i. and enough members turned out to brave the cold to enable us to fly. We only had two gliders the k8 and jmx. Everybody managed to get a flight in the fairly benign conditions and we managed 13 launches before calling it a day around 14.00. Flights averaged from 8 to 11 minutes with 1500ft launches. Thanks rob h and graham t. All in all not a bad day.
