1st Weekend of Autumn

Liz reports “Saturday 1 Sept – Liz and Peter were privileged and delighted to fly with wartime pilots Jim Dearlove, who flew the Mosquito and Dennis Fricker, who flew Wellingtons & Ansons. Paul converted to the K8, Alex proved that if Liz didn’t set the task, he could get round and lots of nice flying was had by all.”

On Sunday a front pushed high cloud over us and damped the soaring opportunities, although we had several soaring flights, at the other end of the scale Matt from SUGC did many many cable break practice flights, all well flown. Oh and Laurie brought cake!

    email received from Dennis Fricker:-
“Many thanks for your hospitality on Saturday when I had a flight with Liz Sparrow and met Jim Dearlove. You were all very welcoming which I greatly appreciated.
Perhaps you might see me again in the near future.”
